White Lake Natural Resource Area
Hike a loop around White Lake, a natural kettle lake in northern Warren County. There is a four mile loop possible around the lake, in part covering the Ridge and Valley Trail, a fantastic long trail that connects the Appalachian Trail with the Paulins Kill Valley Trail! The hike features many historic ruins including a former girl scout camp and the Marl Works where limestone based sediments were dredged off and used to neutralize sewer systems in Newark.
Michael, I have a noon appointment tomorrow, but would love to do this hike sometime soon. Do schedule it again! :) Be well.
I think I might try again for next Saturday. Snow predictions are messing things up. I had posted it on my meetup for Metrotrails, the non profit I run, but no takers there either. I usually do longer hikes, but it's nice to do something easy and short in the morning of a day off.
I'm leading a trip from Washington Valley to New Brunswick on Sunday, 15 miles, which you can see on the Metrotrails page.
My road is not plowed yet!!
Roads all look good around the lake now.
Also, I am willing to lead this particular hike most any afternoon. I'm caretaker at the property, and try to patrol the perimeter regularly!
If anyone doesn't see me, call my cell at 908 343 8374
